What is alumina ceramic?
Aluminum oxide ceramic, also known as aluminum oxide ceramic (Al₂O₃), is a high-performance advanced ceramic material made from refined aluminum oxide powder.
It has excellent mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties, and is different from traditional ceramics in terms of raw materials and manufacturing processes. Due to its fine microstructure, alumina ceramics have high hardness, wear resistance,
corrosion resistance, high temperature stability, electrical insulation, and biocompatibility. It is widely used in industries such as electronics, machinery, chemical processing, medical devices, aerospace, and defense.
Types of alumina ceramics
Alumina ceramics can be divided into two categories based on their composition and application: high-purity alumina and ordinary alumina ceramics.
High purity alumina (≥ 99%)
With excellent mechanical strength, extreme temperature resistance, and outstanding dielectric properties, making it an ideal choice for semiconductor components, precision machinery, and advanced medical implants.
Ordinary alumina (90% -99%)
provides a cost-effective balance of strength and durability, commonly used in wear-resistant components, electrical insulators, and industrial machinery parts.
Thanks to its versatility and reliability, alumina ceramics remain a key material in modern engineering and high-tech industries.
